Event Overview
The Callaway Gardens Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon takes place at Robin Lake Beach in Pine Mountain, Georgia. - Super Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 400 meter swim, a 9 mile bike ride, and a 2 mile run.
- Duathlon: Consists of a 1 mile run, a 9 mile bike ride, and a 2 mile run.
Course Details
The triathlon begins with a 400 meter swim around the perimeter of Robin Lake. The bike portion for both events is a single 9 mile loop that starts and ends inside Callaway Gardens. While the course is open to the public, volunteer course marshals are stationed at intersections. The final 2 mile run segment passes through the garden grounds, with a hydration station located near the halfway mark offering water and electrolyte drinks.
Participation and Categories
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, and participants must provide a valid government photo ID at packet pick-up. Registration options include individual age group entries, relay teams, and specific weight-based categories such as Athena (over 165 lbs) and Clydesdale (over 220 lbs). Age group categories start at under 14 and continue in five-year increments up to 70 and over.
Amenities and Awards
All participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal, while triathletes are also provided with a swim cap. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in each age group and relay category.
