Callaway Gardens Olympic Triathlon and Duathlon
The event is held at Callaway Gardens, with swim activities at Robin Lake Beach in Pine Mountain, GA 31822. The venue includes paved trails and scenic roads used for the bike and run courses.
Distances offered:
- Olympic triathlon: 1000 m swim, 18 mile bike, 5 mile run.
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 18 mile bike, 5 mile run.
The swim is a 1000 meter horseshoe course around Robin Lake with lifeguards on the beach and on the water. The bike course is an 18 mile two-loop out-and-back that uses Scenic Drive, Discovery Parkway and Mountain Creek Drive. The run follows Robin Lake Circle and a paved bike trail. There are two aid stations offering hydration and limited nutrition including Cerasport, cola, pickle juice, chips, gels and water. The finish area and packet pick up are located at the Circus Tent adjacent to Robin Lake.
The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants must be USAT members or purchase a one day membership and sign the required waiver. Transition and bike check in occur at the Robin Lake parking area on race morning. Parking is available in the Robin Lake Beach parking area. Awards recognize top overall finishers and top age group finishers; relays are awarded separately. Refunds are not offered though deferrals may be considered with documentation.
