Callaway Gardens Olympic Triathlon and Duathlon
The Callaway Gardens Olympic Triathlon and Duathlon takes place at Callaway Resort and Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. This event features both multisport formats with options for individual participants and relay teams. The transition area is located at the Robin Lake Beach parking lot.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1000 m swim, 18 mile bike, and 5 mile run.
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 18 mile bike, and 5 mile run.
The triathlon begins with a horseshoe-shaped 1000 m swim in Robin Lake. It is a deep-water swim that stays within 20 yards of the shoreline for the first half, and participants are provided with a swim cap. The 18 mile bike segment for both events consists of a two-loop course on Scenic Drive, Discovery Parkway, and Mountain Creek Drive. This course is open to public vehicle traffic. The final 5 mile run follows Robin Lake Circle and a paved bike trail. The duathlon starts with a 2 mile run beginning from the transition area.
Two aid stations are located on the run course, offering water, hydration drinks, and various snacks. Technical support for basic bike repairs is available on the course. All finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt, and awards are presented to the top overall performers and age group winners. Registration for this USA Triathlon sanctioned event requires either an annual membership or a one-day pass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
