Buzzards Bay Triathlon
The Max Performance Buzzards Bay Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Horseneck Beach State Reservation in Westport, Massachusetts. It is presented as a season ending sprint multisport event on the Farm Coast.
- Sprint Triathlon: 1/3 mile swim, 13.3 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Sprint Duathlon: 2 mile run, 13.3 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
The swim takes place in Buzzards Bay, reportedly in a secluded cove with water temperatures near 70 degrees F. The bike course runs through Westport and passes farmhouses, stonewalls, and coastal scenery. The run follows a tree lined park road and finishes along the beach path beside the bay and ocean.
A duathlon option uses the same bike and final run segments while replacing the swim with a two mile run along the beachfront paved path. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned and lists USA Triathlon certified race directors.
