Butterfly Run Nanaimo, Van Isle : October 3, 2026
The Butterfly Run Van Isle in Nanaimo is a memorial walk/run held at Westwood Lake on Saturday, October 3, 2026. This is the 5th annual edition of the event.
The event offers two main distances:
- 5 km run/walk
- 3 km run/walk
The run is organized to support people who have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. Proceeds support Butterfly Support Network and fund free programs such as counselling, support groups and peer support for families across British Columbia.
Registration and race kit details:
- Adult registrations include a race kit and t-shirt, with an option to decline the kit during registration.
- Children under 12 register for free but must be registered; race kit and t-shirt are not included for children.
- Children's t-shirts can be purchased at registration for CA$15 and cannot be guaranteed after September 1.
- Registrations are non-refundable; if the event moves entirely to a virtual format, refunds are not issued but race kits and shirts will still be provided.
Logistics: Race kit pickup is available before the event and on race day at Westwood Lake. Parking at Westwood Lake is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
