Butter Tart Festival Race
The event offers in-person and virtual races on August 8, 2026 at Spencer Smith Park, Lakeshore Road, Burlington, ON. Distances available are:
- 1 km
- 3 km
- 5 km
Each race kit includes a finisher medal and butter tarts. Kits also contain extras such as a phone lanyard (three color options) and a key tag (two options). Someone else may pick up a participant's kit on their behalf and a race day pickup option is available. All runners must wear a bib pinned to the front.
The 3 km and 5 km races are chip timed with results posted promptly by the timing service. Virtual participants can track and submit their run using the ASICS Runkeeper app and will receive a virtual finisher certificate after posting results. Butter tarts are included for virtual entries.
A $10 CAD discount applies for youths aged 16 and under and for seniors aged 65 and over. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back of the corral. Dogs are not permitted in any events. If the in-person event is cancelled due to extreme conditions, participants will be moved to the virtual race and no refunds or price differences will be returned.
