Butter Tart Festival Race in Burlington, ON
The Butter Tart Festival Race takes place on August 8, 2026 at Spencer Smith Park, East Lawn, 1400 Lakeshore Rd, Burlington, ON. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and includes short distances suited to families.
- 1KM family-friendly distance.
- 3KM chip-timed race.
- 5KM chip-timed race.
Each race kit includes a finisher medal and butter tarts. The 3KM and 5KM races are chip timed by Speed River Timing and results will be posted at speedrivertiming.com. Virtual participants can track and submit their activity using the ASICS Runkeeper app and will receive a virtual finisher certificate.
The course is an out-and-back route along Burlington walking trails and is described as flat and fast. Strollers are permitted with the request that runners with strollers start at the back of the corral; dogs are not allowed. A $10 discount is offered for youth 16 and under and for seniors 65 and over.
If the in-person race is cancelled for extreme conditions, participants will be moved into the virtual race and no refunds or price-difference returns will be issued.
