Raid the City Adventure Run
Raid the City is a map-based urban adventure run in Hamilton held on August 29, 2027. The event is a three-hour team race for pairs that navigate the city on foot to visit checkpoints placed across trails, roads, alleyways and parks. Checkpoints are rated for difficulty and carry different point values. Teams may use GPS watches, phones, compasses or other navigation aids, but must travel on foot only; motorized transport, buses and shared bikes are not permitted.
The event offers a Full Raid with a three hour time limit. Categories are teams of two in Male/Open, Coed, Female, Masters, Super Masters and Family/Junior divisions. Ages are determined as of Dec. 31, 2026. Masters require a combined team age of 90 or more; Super Masters require a combined age of 120 or more. Family/Junior teams include one adult and one youth aged 18 or under.
Registration is closed. Entry fees varied by deadline tier and by adult or junior/family pricing. Fees included race maps for each participant, race app access, post-race hot food, event gear such as T-shirt, socks or headband, and a 2026 day membership for race insurance. Fees did not include online transaction charges or HST. No pets were allowed on course or at registration.
A smartphone capable of running the Goosechase Adventures app and sufficient battery life was mandatory. There were no aid stations on course, so teams were expected to carry their own food and fluids; city vendors were available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
