Raid the City Adventure Run

Raid the City takes place on August 30, 2026 in Hamilton, ON. It is a three hour team race for pairs that uses map navigation across the city. Teams travel on foot to checkpoints placed around the urban area.

Checkpoints appear on trails, roads, alleyways and in parks; each checkpoint is rated for difficulty and assigned point values. Participants may use a GPS watch, phone or compass; motorized transport and public bike share are not allowed. Travel must be on foot.

The start location is Victoria Park, 500 King St W, Hamilton. The event offers one course called Full Raid with a three hour time limit. Categories are teams of two in Male/Open, Coed, Female, Masters, Super Masters and Family/Junior. Ages are determined as of December 31, 2026. Masters teams require a combined age of 90 or over; Super Masters require a combined age of 120 or over. Family/Junior teams consist of one adult and one youth aged 18 or under.

Registration uses Early, Regular and Late deadlines (by July 1, by August 12, by August 26). Fees vary by period and by adult or junior/family category. The entry fee includes copies of all race maps for each participant, race app access, post race hot food, event gear such as a T shirt, socks or headband, and a 2026 DontGetLost Adventure Running day membership for insurance. Online transaction fees and HST are not included.

A smartphone is mandatory because the event uses an app to track teams; teams may use multiple phones if needed and data use is minimal. There are no official aid stations on the course so teams must carry their own sustenance for three hours; cash or card is recommended for purchases in the city. Teams must remain within visual sight and be able to communicate verbally, obey normal road rules, and not enter private property. Race numbers must be visible at all times. Pets are not allowed on the course or at registration.

Awards are given to first place teams in all categories and to the top three teams in categories with at least ten entries. Sponsor draw prizes will also be distributed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
