Raid the City Adventure Run
Raid the City is a navigation-based adventure race held in Hamilton, Ontario. Participants compete in teams of two, using a map to locate checkpoints scattered across the city. The event utilizes various urban and natural landscapes, including trails, roads, alleyways, and parks. Teams have a 3-hour time limit to visit as many checkpoints as possible, with each location assigned a point value based on its difficulty.
The competition is conducted entirely on foot. While participants are permitted to use GPS watches, phones, and compasses for navigation, the use of public transit, ride-sharing services, or bicycles is prohibited. Teams must remain within visual and verbal contact at all times and must follow all standard road rules.
Available categories for teams of two include:
- Male/Open, Coed, and Female
- Masters (combined age 90+) and Super Masters (combined age 120+)
- Family/Junior (one adult and one youth aged 18 or under)
Participants are required to carry a smartphone to use the Goosechase Adventures app, which tracks teams as they reach checkpoints. As there are no official aid stations along the course, teams are responsible for carrying their own food and water or purchasing supplies at local establishments during the race. The registration fee includes race maps, app access, post-race hot food, and event gear such as t-shirts or socks. The event starts at Victoria Park.
