Aquathlon Provincial Championships
Triathlon Ontario presents the Aquathlon Provincial Championships at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. The championship format combines running and swimming and changes depending on water temperature. If water temperature is 22 C or above, wetsuits are illegal and the race format is 2.5 km run, 1 km swim, then 2.5 km run. If water temperature is below 22 C, wetsuits are legal and the race becomes a 1 km swim followed by a 5 km run.
The provincial championship includes qualification for the 2027 Aquathlon Age Group World Championships, with one spot available per age group per gender.
A shorter Aquathlon Half is offered with a 500 m swim followed by a 2.5 km run.
Competing in the Provincial Championships requires a 2026 Triathlon Ontario membership. Competing in the Half does not require an annual membership, though annual members receive a discount.
The event relies on volunteers to support race operations and course management; volunteer roles typically cover a few hours and contribute to running the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
