Summer Sunset Series
The Summer Sunset Series takes place at the Desjardins Recreation Trail in Hamilton, Ontario, on August 27, 2026. The event is organized by The Runner's Den in partnership with Mizuno and uses a course along the Waterfront Trail described as fast and flat.
Event formats include:
- 1 km Kids Run not timed, medal for finishers
- 5 km Walk/Run out and back along the waterfront trail
The 5K is a timed event using an ankle chip. To keep costs low, no shirt or medal will be provided to 5K runners. The event includes onsite demo shoes to try, draw prizes for participants courtesy of Mizuno, and post race refreshments.
Race day registration and chip pick up are available between 5:30pm and 7:00pm, with ankle chips distributed onsite adjacent to the start line from 5:30pm. Draw prizes are awarded immediately following the event. Free parking is available on city streets in the Westdale neighbourhood; paid parking is available at RBG Cootes Paradise.
