Event overview
The Butler Bulldog Jog, hosted by Indy Runners, takes place on April 11, 2026, at Butler University. The event offers these distances:
- 10K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1-Mile Dawg Walk
- Virtual Race
Registration fees listed on the event page are $30 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, $25 for the 1-mile Dawg Walk, and $25 for the Virtual Race. Indy Runners members and Butler students and staff receive a $10 registration discount. An optional medal is available as an add-on.
Course and logistics
Gathering and staging are in front of the Butler Health and Recreation Complex (HRC) and Hinkle Fieldhouse. The start line is on Sunset Avenue near Chatham Tap and the finish is on Lake Street behind Chatham Tap near the pond and bell tower. Parking is available in the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot.
The 5K and 10K routes run through Butler’s campus; the 5K is described as a flat course on campus. Dogs and strollers are permitted only on the 5K; dogs are not allowed on the 10K route through Newfields. A virtual option is available and virtual participants receive race shirts by mail. Proceeds are split among Butler HRC student programs, Indy Runners giving-back initiatives, and the Indianapolis Humane Society. Volunteers are invited to support race-day operations.
