About the race
The Butler Bulldog Jog takes place April 10, 2027 at Butler University Health and Recreation Complex in Indianapolis. Indy Runners hosts the event in partnership with Butler University and Indy Walkers running club.
The event includes multiple participation options:
- 5K: a tour through campus on a flat, fast course
- 10K: requires about an 18:00 minute per mile pace with a cutoff near mile 4.7
- 1-mile Dawg Walk: a walking event with proceeds supporting the Indy Humane Society
- Virtual Race: participation at a distance of choice with race shirt mailed to virtual registrants
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, and $25 for both the 1-mile walk and the virtual option. The 10K course includes a route that passes through Newfields; dogs are not allowed in the 10K through Newfields. Dogs may run the 5K, with attention to other runners. Running strollers are limited to the 5K because the Canal Towpath is narrow for passing.
Donations and additional participant contributions are allocated among Butler HRC student programs, Indy Runners' Giving Back initiatives, and the Indy Humane Society.
