Event Overview
The Bulldog Jog is a long-standing community event held at Butler University in Indianapolis, now entering its 34th year. Hosted by Indy Runners and Walkers, the event takes place at the Butler University Health and Recreation Complex (HRC). The routes are designed to provide participants with a scenic experience through the university campus.
Course Information and Distances
Participants can choose from three primary distances:
- 10K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1-Mile Dawg Walk
The 5K and 10K routes traverse the Butler University campus terrain. Strollers and friendly dogs are permitted on the 5K course and the 1-Mile walk, but are not allowed on the 10K route. A virtual participation option is also available for those unable to attend in person, with race shirts provided to all participants.
Community and Charitable Impact
The event serves as a fundraiser for several local initiatives. Proceeds benefit the Butler HRC student wellness and grant programs, the Indy Runners scholarship fund, and community projects. The 1-Mile Dawg Walk specifically supports the Indianapolis Humane Society. Attendees may encounter university representatives such as the Butler Cheer squad, the Butler Pep Band, and mascots during the walk.
