About the race
Phoenixville's Burn Off the Bird event offers two 5K options: an in person race on the Schuylkill River Trail and a virtual 5K that can be run at a location of the participant's choosing.

The in person race starts and finishes at the Phoenixville Recreation Center parking lot, 501 Franklin Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. The Franklin Avenue entrance to the parking lot will be closed on event day; attendees should enter via Fillmore Street. Overflow parking is available at Franklin Commons across the street and volunteers will direct traffic. Day of bib pickup and registration will be inside the Recreation Center. Early bib and swag pickup is scheduled at the Recreation Center on Saturday, November 21, 2026, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
All participants receive a custom medal. Participants who register by November 1, 2026 are guaranteed a soft cotton t shirt; registrants after that date are not guaranteed a shirt or preferred size. Swag for virtual runners is not mailed and must be picked up during early pickup or before the race; a friend may collect items on a participant's behalf.
The event is chip timed to allow staggered starts while preserving recorded race times. Proceeds benefit the Phoenixville Jaycees Foundation, and the event partners with Ann's Heart for local community support.
