Royston Runners stages an annual measured road race of 10 miles around Buntingford and the surrounding area. The course is officially measured, largely undulating and run as a single lap with an entry limit of 750 participants.
Entries open on 1 September and there are tiered entry fees: standard entry £25 unaffiliated and £23 affiliated, with reduced fees for using an older medal (£23 unaffiliated, £21 affiliated). Transfers to another runner are possible until 18 December; other transfer arrangements are managed by the organiser.
There is a cut-off of 2.5 hours; marshalls and the finish-line team may begin to withdraw after this time. Headphones are banned under British Athletics rules and runners must follow the UK National Anti-Doping Policy. Dogs and buggies are not permitted.
The event incorporates the Hertfordshire Veterans Road Running County Championship with individual medals for veteran age groups up to V80 and team awards. Race trophies are awarded for the first three male and female finishers and for first male and female in age categories 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+, with a maximum of one trophy per participant. To count in club teams for the county championship, individuals must be registered with England Athletics.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing rooms, baggage storage and parking (limited). Water stations are located near the out-and-back point and at the finish; the event aims to be cupless so runners are asked to bring a cup or bottle.
