Royston Runners stage an annual measured 10 mile (16 km) road race in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. The course is a single 10 mile lap on undulating roads and holds an England Athletics race licence #31704. Entry is limited to 750 runners and transfers are allowed until 18 December; entries opened on 1 September.
There is a 2.5 hour cut off for the course; marshals and finish-line staff may begin to withdraw after this time. The event incorporates the Hertfordshire Veterans Road Running County Championship with individual and team medals across veteran age groups. Race prizes include trophies for the first three male and female finishers and first male and female in each 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ age category, with a maximum of one trophy per participant.
Facilities at Race HQ, Freman College, include toilets, changing and baggage storage in the school hall. The event provides water at the out-and-back point near Westmill at approximately 3.5 and 8 miles and at the finish; organisers aim to be cupless elsewhere so runners should bring a cup or bottle. Other race provisions include distance markers, basic refreshments and finish-line refreshments for purchase. Headphones are banned under British Athletics rules and will result in disqualification.
