ATW Hatfield 5
The ATW Hatfield 5 is the 11th running of a 5 mile road/paths event held at The Forum, Hertfordshire College Lane Campus, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. The race features the Herts County Vets Championships. The organiser reports the course recorded the third fastest UK time in 2022. The event uses two start waves to separate faster and slower runners. The listed next race date is 30/11/2025.
ATW was established in 2011 and operates national running and multisport events, reporting over 40,000 entries a year. The event partner charity is Alzheimer’s Research UK, with opportunities to donate and fundraise at checkout. The organiser’s entry policy states there are no refunds and no transfers to another person; entries can be transferred to any future ATW event up to 48 hours before the event, with no proof required.
Course and facilities
The course begins at The Forum and follows the pavements of College Lane, includes two sweeping bends, then runs onto The Alban Way. Runners turn onto Wilkins Green Lane, continue to its end (described as about 3 metres of climbing), cross the Alban Way, join Smallford Lane, follow a corner onto Sleapcross Gardens, then use a flat, straight A414 footpath. The route takes a footpath onto Comet Way and returns along the Alban Way to finish at race headquarters.
