ATW Hatfield 5
The ATW Hatfield 5 is the twelfth running of a five-mile event held from race headquarters at The Forum, College Lane Campus, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. The event has featured the Herts County Senior Championships and has recorded one of the faster 5-mile times in the UK, including the third fastest time in 2022.
The course starts at The Forum and follows pavements along College Lane before joining the Alban Way. Runners navigate Wilkins Green Lane, cross the Alban Way, continue on Smallford Lane and Sleapcross Gardens, then follow a flat, straight section on the A414 footpath and Comet Way before returning along the Alban Way to the finish at race headquarters. The route description notes only about three metres of climbing on one section and highlights long flat sections.
Participants can expect custom-designed medals, free event photos, finish-line snacks and post-race goodies. The event partners with Alzheimer’s Research UK and provides opportunities to donate or fundraise at checkout.
The organiser operates a transfer policy that does not offer refunds or transfers to another person but allows entry transfers to any future ATW event for reasons such as injury, illness, pregnancy, bereavement, or other unforeseen circumstances. Transfers may be made up to 48 hours before the original event date. Free parking is available on site.
