Bumble Bee Challenge Day 1
The Bumble Bee Challenge Day 1 is an eight-hour timed running event held in Exmouth, Devon. The course is situated near Capel Lane in Littleham and follows a scenic route along a disused train line. The terrain is entirely tarmac and has been accurately measured, leading to its classification as a road course. The route is described as undulating and follows an out and back format.
Participants complete laps of 5.3 km each. The event utilizes a flexible "Turn Up Get Going" system, allow runners and walkers to begin their activity at their convenience within a specific morning and afternoon window. All participants must reach the finish of their final lap by the designated cutoff time in the afternoon.
Available distances and achievements depend on the number of laps completed within the time limit:
- 5.3 km (one lap)
- 21.2 km (four laps)
- 42.2 km (eight laps / marathon distance)
- 74.2 km (fourteen laps / maximum recorded)
An aid station providing drinks and snacks is located at the end of each lap. This event is open to adults aged 18 and over, with a strict limit of 50 entrants. Finishers receive a medal and a goody bag, though registration options exist for those who prefer to participate without receiving these items. The event holds an Association of Running Clubs (ARC) permit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
