Event Format
The Dart Challenge is a six-hour timed event on a weekday. Participants can run, hike, or walk as many laps of a 5 km loop as they wish within the time limit. A single lap earns a finisher's medal, while completing eight laps plus a short out-and-back equals a marathon distance.
Course Details
The 5 km lap is on mixed terrain including gravel, grass, some tarmac, and potentially mud. The course is described as reasonably flat but features one notable hill per lap. Trail shoes are strongly recommended. The event base is the Green Table Cafe at Dartington Hall in Devon.
Facilities and Support
Registration and a covered rest area are hosted at the Green Table Cafe, which offers hot drinks and food. There is an indoor space with a wood-burning stove. Aid stations, professional timing, medical support, and toilets are provided. A canicross option allows participants to run with their dog. The event helps raise funds for a new playground at Dartington Hall.
Logistics
There is ample parking, with a parking concession being arranged for the event. Participants can start slightly later than the official start if needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
