Bully Blitz 5k Run 1k Walk
The Bully Blitz event is a fundraiser for It’s A Pittie Rescue, a volunteer-based nonprofit focused on rescuing, rehabbing, rehoming, and educating about pit bull breeds. The event includes a 5K run and a 1-mile walk held in Symerton/Wilmington, Illinois.

Check-in takes place at Symerton Tap & Grill (18332 W Commercial St). Participants receive race instructions, a goodie bag, a chipped race bib, and a race T-shirt. The course uses the Wauponsee Glacial Trail - Symerton Access. The running event will include a competitive wave and a subsequent fun run wave; the 1-mile walkers begin after the running waves.
Awards are given to top finishers overall and by age group, with first and second places recognized in male and female categories. The event features an after party at Symerton Tap & Grill with a live band, vendors, and adoptable dogs. Attendees are asked to leave their own pets at home.
Registration opens April 25, 2026. Registration fees listed for the published events include $40 for the 5K and $25 for the 1-mile walk. Participants must register by September 2, 2026 to be guaranteed a race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
