Bulldog Breakaway Twilight 5K
The Bulldog Breakaway Twilight 5K is a scheduled running event taking place on the campus of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. This evening race is held on a Thursday and utilizes the athletic facilities of the military college for its primary infrastructure.
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km (USATF certified)
The course is officially certified by USATF and begins and ends at the track on Willson Field. Participants complete one lap around the campus grounds before exiting through the Summerall gate. The route then leads into Hampton Park for one full lap. After completing the section in the park, runners return through the Summerall gate to complete a second lap of the campus before reaching the final finish line at the track.
Facilities provided for participants include water stops located at various points throughout the course and near the finish line. Restrooms are also available for use near the track area. For logistics, parking is located on The Citadel's campus in close proximity to the track. Registration options include a basic entry fee for individuals that does not include a t-shirt. On the day of the event, race numbers and packets are distributed at the track. Results are gathered and posted online by the organizers once calculations are finished.
