Event Details
The event is presented by the Charleston Running Club with help from the Sullivan's Island Fire & Rescue Department. It has been held for over 25 years. All participants receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Sullivan's Island Fire & Rescue Department, the Charleston Running Club, and other local charities. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
Awards
Awards are given in multiple categories. The top three overall male and female finishers are recognized. Awards are also given for the first master (40+), grandmaster (50+), and great grandmaster (60+) male and female finishers.
Age group awards are presented for the top three finishers in categories from ages 10 and under to 85 and over. The Peyton Moore award is given to the fastest boy and girl under the age of 12, in memory of a young club member. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
