Event Details
The run segment is a 2-mile course through town streets, finishing the last 100 meters through a park to the transition area. The cycling leg covers 13 miles on rolling country roads, finishing at the Springwood boat landing. The final segment is a 5-mile paddle down the James River from the Springwood boat landing to the Twin River Outfitters boat ramp.
The event finishes at Buchanan Town Park. A finisher's medal is provided, and post-race food is available. Participants receive a race t-shirt if registered by a specified date. Awards are given to top finishers.
Logistics & Notes
The transition area for bikes does not provide bike racks; participants must bring their own. Kayak rentals, including life jacket and paddle, are available and will be staged at the transition area for race day. The race is held regardless of weather. The paddling segment may be omitted and the event converted to a duathlon if river water levels are dangerously high. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
