Event Overview
The Bubble Run is a non-traditional running event held in Hilo, Hawaii, at the Lavaloha location. Participants travel along a course of up to 3 miles (approximately 5 km) while moving through various stations known as Foam Bogs. These bogs dispense different colors of foam designed to cover participants from head to toe.
The event is designed for a variety of participants, including adults, children, and those using strollers. Individuals can choose to run, walk, dance, or play as they progress through the course. The foam used throughout the event is 100% safe. Staff members, referred to as Bubble-teers, are positioned at the stations to manage the foam distribution.
Course and Participation
The course features multiple Foam Bogs, each representing a distinct foam color. Participants are encouraged to wear white t-shirts to better display the colored foam accumulated during the activity. Registered Heats consist of smaller waves that are released every 60-90 seconds. Entry into the start chute determines the specific wave order within a heat.
