Brutal Ower

Brutal Ower takes place on the private Ower Shooting Ground and uses a multi lap format over a marked loop. The terrain includes woods, rugged ground, the River Blackwater, a trench called the Ower trench and a waist deep pond with an alternative route for children. A large open field near the course serves as the event headquarters and offers space for teams and supporters.

The main challenge is to complete as many laps as possible within a four hour timed window. The standard lap length is 3.5 km and the route includes two ankle deep river crossings. The event allows individual entries, pairs and teams of up to four. The event is canicross friendly and there are specific canicross entry options.

Children aged 8 to 15 can take part by completing a single lap early in the schedule; anyone under 11 must be accompanied by an adult on course. Junior status is defined as under 16 on race day.

Entry fees vary by entry type. Examples from the entry list include solo entries at £40.00, pairs at £62.50 and team entries at £99.00. On site catering will be available with hot and cold food, and there is a McDonald’s within walking distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
