Brundage Mountain Summit Cat Track 10K/5K
This event takes place at Brundage Mountain Resort near McCall, ID, and offers mountain trail running on the Cat Track. Two distances are available:
- 10K - ascend 3.1 miles, gain 1,640" to the summit; return same route, 6.2 miles total.
- 5K - downhill from the summit after a Bluebird chairlift ride; descend 3.1 miles, 1640".
From the summit there are 360 degree views of Payette Lake and the McCall area, the 7 Devils Mountains, Granite Peak, Slab Butte, and the Wallowa Mountain Range of Oregon. The summit aid station at mile 3.1 will provide cups and gel packets; volunteers will use a pitcher to fill personal bottles or camelbacks rather than handling them. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle for the finish area.
Race entry includes a logo Brundage Mountain Cat Track swag item. Ten kilometer entrants receive a free lift ticket valid for race day and five kilometer entrants receive the lift ride to the summit start. Smokey's Bar & Grill will be open on site and there will be live music during the event. In previous years a black bear ran across the mountain at the start of the race.
