Huckleberry Trot 2026
The Huckleberry Trot is an annual fun run and walk organized by the Friends of the Donnelly Public Library as part of the Huckleberry Festival in August. The event features a 5K route that runs from the Donnelly Library to the Roseberry Mercantile in Historic Roseberry and returns to the library.
Proceeds support the Friends of the Library, including a building expansion fund. The event traditionally includes a raffle of donated baskets, with raffle proceeds designated for the library fund; the raffle takes place Sunday at the end of the Huckleberry Festival. Organizers report nearly 300 racers and walkers participated in the prior year, including local residents and out-of-area visitors, and the group has set a fundraising target of $20,000 for the year.
Sponsorship opportunities are offered at several levels, with examples listed at Platinum $2000 and up, Diamond $1000, Gold $750, Silver $500, and Bronze $250. Sponsors appear on event T shirts and printed materials; the deadline to have a logo included on printed material is July 15. The event route, raffle, and sponsorship structure are used to raise seed funds for event marketing and race-day items and to acknowledge community supporters without implying endorsement by the library or its Friends group.
