Brother Laurence Run 'n' Shuck Oyster Cup
The Brother Laurence Run 'n' Shuck Oyster Cup takes place in New Orleans City Park at Christian Brothers School on October 3, 2026. The event offers multiple short-distance runs and a kids trot, and proceeds benefit Christian Brothers School. Past editions have drawn over 500 runners and walkers.
Race entries include chip timing; the timing chip is affixed to the reverse side of the bib and should remain visible during the event. Awards include 1st overall male and female and age group awards for first through third place, with a brief post-race awards ceremony and gift cards from local running retailers.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at 4153 Canal St, New Orleans, and there is packet pickup at the race site on race day when the site opens. Online registration closes October 1 at noon. Race day registration is available and accepts credit/debit cards, check, and cash (no bills over $20).
Results will be posted and streamed live on Lazy Hound Racing, and photos are posted after the race on the event Facebook page.
After the race there is a post-race picnic with fresh cold oysters from Mato's, pastalaya prepared by a local chef using donated ingredients, snacks including Chee Wees, bottled water and sports drinks, and local craft beer from several breweries.
