Event Overview

The Oktoberfest Run & Walk takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in New Orleans. The main event is a 5K run and walk.

Course Details

The start line is at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots on Gentilly Boulevard. Participants will run a lap around the historic Fairgrounds Racetrack. The finish line is at the Deutsches Haus on Moss Street.

Registration and Entry

The standard entry fee for the 5K is listed as $30. Members of the New Orleans Track Club (NOTC) receive a $5 discount on this entry. There is also a separate 5K - NOTC Family event with an entry fee of $55, which is restricted to NOTC members.

Awards and Extras

An award ceremony is scheduled to take place after the race. The event also features a Horsepower Challenge, described as a "race within the race" for top male and female runners. The largest participating team wins clubhouse passes to the Fair Grounds Racetrack's opening day and a custom trophy.

Every registered participant receives two free entries to the New Orleans Oktoberfest celebration, which features German food, music, and dancing.
