Brooksvale 12-Hour
The Brooksvale 12-Hour is a timed trail event held in Hamden, CT at Brooksvale Park. The course is a 4.25 mile loop that gains about 500 feet each lap. The event is organized as a 12-hour effort, so total distance depends on how many loops each participant completes.
Participants commonly use the loop to pursue specific distance goals. Typical options include:
- 50 miles (commonly targeted)
- Marathon (six loops)
- 50k (eight loops)
An aid station is located on course at each loop, allowing runners to test fueling, clothing, and other race-day gear without a personal crew. The event is also presented as a training opportunity for longer races later in the season.
Proceeds from the event support the Brooksvale Gift Fund, a program that directs money to trail maintenance in the park. Another portion of proceeds will go to a charity to be determined.
Event entry includes participant apparel and finish awards for some registrants. Early registrants who sign up before June 14 receive a Bella+Canvas tri-blend screen printed shirt. Finishers receive a handmade Ragged Cuts medal and other awards; food is provided for participants on event day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
