Event overview
The #HonorMark event in Savannah is organized to carry on a local hero's legacy by giving back to the community through charitable donations. The event takes place at Daffin Park in Midtown Savannah and includes in-person and virtual options.
The program includes the following events:
- 10k run
- 5k run / walk
- 5k ruck
- Kids run (max age 10)
- Virtual kids run
- Virtual 5k, 10k or ruck
The initiative honors a hero who served four years in the Marine Corps and later as a firefighter and paramedic; he was a Purple Heart recipient and died in 2017. Proceeds from the event support families of first responders and military personnel. The 2025 event generated $20,000 in donations to local families.
Logistics and participant notes include chip timing, packet pick up options on November 5 at Way Station Coffee and November 6 at Fleet Feet Savannah, and mailed packets for virtual participants who register by October 16, 2026. Shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after October 16. The 10k follows the 5k course twice. Strollers are permitted; Royal Restrooms will be onsite. After the races there will be awards, a raffle, refreshments, snacks and a bouncy house for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
