About the race
Run For Rangers Savannah takes place on Tybee Island, Georgia, with start and finish areas near Historic Fort Screven on Meddin Drive across from the Tybee Lighthouse. The route runs past Officers Row, Jaycee Park, Fort Screven housing and finishes at the North Beach area. The courses are predominantly flat and make use of island roads and coastal views including the lighthouse, the pier, South Beach, the Back River, salt marsh crossings and Memorial Park. Timing and awards are chip based with categories by age and gender.
All participants receive a custom Tybee Ranger finisher medal. The half marathon includes a technical event shirt and finisher medal. Awards are given for overall and age groups; the top overall male and female in each category receive a custom Ranger plaque.
Additional apparel such as long sleeve shirts and hoodies are available for purchase. Parking for participants is at the North Beach lot. Parking passes are per vehicle, are issued at packet pickup, and are valid until noon. Participants are asked not to park at the lighthouse parking lot, which opens separately. There are special divisions limited to Army Rangers including a two person Ranger Challenge relay with an exchange near the halfway point and a Ranger-only half marathon division.
Pre-registration is recommended for planning. Packet pickup is scheduled the days before the event at the Hilton Garden Inn 5711 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA and at The Shrine Club 1 Meddin Drive, Tybee Island, GA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
