Girl Scout Island Ultra - November 21, 2026
The Girl Scout Island Ultra is an ultrarunning event held on Rose Dhu Island in Savannah, Georgia, organized by Run 4 a Reason. The event offers multiple distances on a measured loop course with chip timing and a 32 hour time cap for all distances.
Distances include:
- Feathers 10k
- 50k
- 50k relay minimum 2 runners, maximum 5 runners
- 100k
- 100 mile
The course is a 6.25 mile trail loop that is described as non technical and generally flat with occasional roots. Runners must pass over a timing mat with a chip each lap. Lap counts by distance are noted by organizers.
Aid and medical support includes a single aid station with water, hydration drink mix, and Girl Scout cookies, plus a medical tent staffed by a registered nurse and an AED. This is a cupless race so participants must carry their own hydration vessels. Pacers and crew must follow organizer rules, register, and wear appropriate bibs; pacing policies and limits apply and there are exceptions for older or pregnant runners.
Camping options through the Girl Scouts include cabins, perches, and tent platforms with showers and bathrooms for a fee; primitive or vehicle camping is available for ultradistance participants with prior notice. No RVs are allowed on the island. Packet pickup is available before the race and on race morning and a pre race dinner is planned for Friday evening.
Proceeds support Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and Camp Low. The organizer provides options for race insurance, deferrals, and limited exceptions for refunds under specified circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
