Bristow Loop Race
The Bristow Loop Run is a timed trail race at Elijah Bristow State Park east of Eugene, Oregon. Runners complete as many laps as they can on a 1.05 mile loop within a set time limit. Race categories include:
- 24 hour option
- 12 hour day option
- 12 hour night option
- 6 hour option
The course is almost entirely dirt trail with a short paved section by the aid station and parking area. Each loop has about 16 feet of elevation gain. The park is about 17 miles southeast of Eugene and about 122 miles from Portland. Parking is limited to three small lots; vehicles larger than a standard parking space are not permitted.
There is one staffed aid station on course passed every lap. The station is stocked with hydration products, gels, snacks, sandwiches and rotating hot food with vegan and vegetarian options. Crew and spectators are allowed and runners may set up personal aid near the start area. Pacing is permitted for 24 hour runners during the second half of the event with registered pacers.
All finishers receive a pint glass. Top finishers in each category receive prizes, and runners who complete at least 100 miles earn a buckle. Camping the night before is available for a fee. The event notes the traditional homelands of the Yoncalla, Winefelly, and Kalapuya Tribes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
