Bristow Loop Race
The Bristow Loop Race is a timed loop trail event held at Elijah Bristow State Park east of Eugene, Oregon. Runners complete as many laps as they can within set time limits.
- 24 hour option
- 12 hour day option
- 12 hour night option
- 6 hour option
The course is a 1.05 mile loop that is almost entirely dirt trail with a short paved section near the aid station and parking area. Each loop features about 16 feet of elevation gain, making the course very flat. The loop runs beside the Middle Fork of the Willamette River and follows trails that are shared with equestrians, so horses may be encountered.
There is a staffed aid station on every lap stocked with gels, electrolyte drink, water, soft drinks, sandwiches and a variety of snack items. Hot food can be ordered at the start of a lap and picked up at the next lap. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Runners may also set up a personal crew area or use the communal crew field near the start and finish; crew access is not allowed while a runner is out on the course.
Parking is limited to three small lots and larger vehicles such as RVs and trailers are not supported. Tent camping the night before is permitted for a fee and basic facilities are provided. All finishers receive a race pint glass and there are awards for top finishers and for runners who reach 100 miles. The event takes place on the traditional homelands of the Yoncalla, Winefelly, and Kalapuya Tribes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
