Run For Your Life - Eugene
Run For Your Life in Eugene is a themed community 5K held at Alton Baker Park on October 18, 2026. The event is a zombie-themed 5K with more than 100 volunteer zombies placed along the fully paved course. Organizers note that zombies will not touch participants and that some makeup may be intense for young children. Dogs are not allowed except for service dogs.
The event supports ShelterCare, a Eugene/Springfield nonprofit that provides housing and behavioral health services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Proceeds from the event benefit ShelterCare.
Participants may run or walk the course. A timing chip is embedded in each race bib; the chip records the time when a participant crosses the start line and the finish line and must be turned in after the race. Strollers and mobility devices are welcome and should be positioned toward the back of the start area to avoid crowding.
Shirts are available for purchase for an additional fee and a limited number of shirts will be sold on race day. Packet pickup will be available virtually, with a limited number of paper packets at the event, and an in-person packet pickup at the ShelterCare table on October 13 at Falling Sky in Eugene.
Additional on-site activities include free face painting, a stretching session, a flash mob performance, and vendor booths. There will be no on-site bag check. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
