Run For Your Life - Eugene, OR (October 18, 2026)
Run For Your Life is a themed community 5K held at the Alton Baker race course in Eugene, Oregon. All event proceeds benefit ShelterCare, a nonprofit that provides housing and behavioral health services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
The event features a 5K course that is fully paved and will include more than 100 volunteer "zombies" hidden along the route. The zombies will not touch participants; some makeup may be intense for young children. Dogs are not permitted except for service animals. Participants may run or walk, and strollers and mobility devices are welcome with guidance to start toward the back of the field.
Race bibs include a timing chip that records start and finish time; participants remove and return the chip after finishing to receive a printed time. Race times will be posted by the timing company. Packet pick-up will be available virtually with a limited number of paper packets on race day; bibs for late registrants will be available at the event. A race shirt design will be announced in summer 2026, and shirts from this and prior years will be available for purchase in limited supply.
Additional event features include free face painting, a stretching session led by a wellness partner, a flash mob performance by Thrill the World Eugene, sponsor vendor booths, youth medals and trophies for fastest youth and adult, and other completion awards. Day-of registration is accepted and multiple age-based pricing tiers are listed for the 5K, including a free entry category for children under five.
