Tricky Treater - Alton Baker Park, Eugene, Oregon
Tricky Treater is a seasonal running event on October 25, 2026 at Alton Baker Park on Day Island Road in Eugene, Oregon. The event offers two distance options and includes themed elements such as a costume contest and Halloween refreshments.
Distances
- 5K - single loop with participant choice of direction
- 10K - two loops, run in opposite directions
All participants start together on the shared course. 5K runners choose to run the loop clockwise or counterclockwise by veering left at the end of the gravel straight or continuing on Day Island Road; runners will encounter others going the opposite direction midway through the course. 10K participants complete the 5K loop twice and may choose which direction to run first.
The top three finishers in each age group for both the 5K and 10K will receive awards. Age groups include 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, then five year bands from 20-24 through 75-79, and 80 & over.
Volunteers along the course will hand out candy in exchange for a trick at aid stations; tricks of any length can earn a prize. A costume contest uses a public vote board where voters write bib numbers to cast votes; the top three costumes receive a commemorative event garment. Packets are available on race day in the staging area at Alton Baker Park and participants should wear bibs on the front. Halloween themed refreshments will be provided at the finish line. A Tricky Treater tech shirt is available as part of the event offering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
