Tricky Treater at Alton Baker Park, Eugene
Tricky Treater is a Halloween-themed running event held on October 25, 2026 at Alton Baker Park on Day Island Road in Eugene, Oregon. The event offers a 5K and a 10K course with an atypical routing option: 5K participants choose to run clockwise or counter-clockwise, and all runners start together before selecting their direction near the gravel straight. Runners will see those going the opposite way midway through the loop. The 10K consists of two laps of the 5K loop, run in opposite directions, and participants may decide which direction to run first.
Packets are available on race day in the staging area at Alton Baker Park; bibs should be worn on the front. Volunteers along the course hand out candy in exchange for a performed trick at aid stations. A costume contest uses a public voting board by the results tent; the top three voted costumes receive commemorative event garments. Halloween themed refreshments are provided at the finish line. The top three finishers in each age group for both distances receive awards; age groups range from 10 and under through 80 and over.
