Tricky Treater - Alton Baker Park
Tricky Treater takes place at Alton Baker Park on October 25, 2026, in Eugene, Oregon. The event offers two distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
All 5K participants start together and may choose direction on the 5K loop, either clockwise or counterclockwise; runners separate at the end of a gravel straight and will be able to see others running the opposite direction midway through the course. The 10K consists of two laps of the 5K loop, run in opposite directions, with runners choosing which direction to run first.
Volunteers along the course hand out candy at aid stations in exchange for a trick; performing a trick can earn a prize. Packet pickup is available on race day in the staging area at Alton Baker Park; participants are asked to wear bib numbers on the front. Halloween themed refreshments are provided at the finish area.
There is a costume contest using a public voting board by the results tent; the top three voted costumes receive a commemorative event garment and winners will be announced. Awards are given to the top three in each age group for both the 5K and 10K. Age groups are: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
