Brisbane Road Runners Club (BRRC) - West End events
Brisbane Road Runners Club has been part of Brisbane's running community since 1982 and hosts road running events throughout the year, generally every second Sunday. All runs use a flat, accurately measured 5 km course along Riverside Drive in West End, with the SBSC Clubhouse at Orleigh Park as the start location. Longer distances are completed by running multiple loops of the same course.
The event program typically includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 20K
- 25K
Events operate under police-approved permits and have marshals stationed along the course. Electronic timing records lap and finish times, and a digital timing clock is positioned at the start/finish line. Free bananas are provided after the run and a bring-your-own water table is available near the start/finish area.
Participation is open to club members and visitors. Club members do not pay entry fees. Registration opens online on the Monday before each event and closes at 7pm on the Saturday night before; there are no late entries and no registration on race morning. Race bib procedures differ for members and visitors, with temporary bibs provided when needed. Toilets are available at Orleigh Park and at the clubhouse. Volunteers pack up after timing ends.
