Lake Manchester Trails
Lake Manchester Trails is a trail running event held at Lake Manchester, QLD, organised by the Trail Running Association of Queensland (TRAQ). The event offers multiple course distances around the lake, with routes that pass the dam, follow the western shore and include a loop with four river crossings on the longer course.
Distances:
- 1 km Kids Dash (under 9 years) A$10
- 1 km Junior Dash (9-12 years) A$10
- 5 km (over 10 years) A$45
- 10 km (16 and over) A$65
- 23 km (18 and over) A$95
Course details include mapped routes available as a downloadable course map and in the Avenza smartphone app. The 23 km course has a four-hour cut-off and multiple water stops at about 5 km, 7 km and 11 km; 10 km runners pass one water stop. Some food is available at the 11 km checkpoint. A paramedic will be on site and first aid kits are positioned at key locations.
There is a no-disposable-cups policy; participants are asked to bring reusable or collapsible cups or bottles. Entrance and parking are about 300 m past the Lake Manchester Reserve entrance. No dogs or other domestic animals are permitted on the course or surrounding grounds. All proceeds go to the TRAQ Charity Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
