Lake Manchester Trails
The Lake Manchester Trails is a trail running event held at Lake Manchester, located west of Mount Crosby in Queensland. Organized by TRAQ, the event features several courses that utilize the trails surrounding the lake, providing scenic views and a variety of terrain for participants.
The event offers several distances to accommodate different experience levels:
- 1 km Kids Dash for children under 9
- 1 km Junior Dash for runners aged 9-12
- 5 km run or walk along the lakeside
- 10 km run, jog, or walk to the log cabin and back
- 23 km trail challenge including river crossings
The 5 km course starts from the day reserve, passes the dam, and follows the western side of the lake. Participants turn onto a grassed track around the headland before returning via the same route. The 10 km follows the main trail to a turnaround point at the log cabin.
The 23 km distance begins at the grassy day reserve, heads past the dam, and follows the western shoreline. The route continues in a clockwise direction around the top end loop at the far end of the lake. This longest course features four river crossings before returning along the western side. The specific route for the 1 km dash is traditionally revealed during the race briefing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
