Brighton Running Festival
The Brighton Running Festival takes place at Decker Park in Brighton, Queensland. This event features a flat and fast course that runs along the oceanfront between Brighton and Sandgate, providing views of Moreton Bay throughout the race. The route extends toward the Shorncliffe Pier and is designed to accommodate various running goals, from personal best attempts to relaxed winter jogs.
The festival offers several distances to cater to different interests:
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Family Dash
Participants in the 2 km Family Dash may have an accompanying adult run with them if the adult is registered as an accompanying participant. There are no cut-off times for the 2 km, 5 km, or 10 km events, while the Half Marathon has a timing limit of 3.5 hours. All distances are professionally chip-timed.
The shoreline course remains open to the public, meaning runners may share the paths with other pedestrians, cyclists, and dogs. Participants are advised to remain aware of their surroundings. Every finisher receives a themed medal, a digital finisher’s certificate, and access to post-race snacks and sponsor giveaways.
The event village at Decker Park serves as the hub for bib pick-up, bag drop, and the post-race prize-giving ceremony. The park is accessible via local bus routes 690 and 310, and it is approximately a 40-minute walk from Sandgate Station. Limited on-site parking and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
