New Year's Eve 5K - Newburgh
The event is a 5K out-and-back run at Friedman Park (2700 Park Blvd, Newburgh, IN) with the start and finish at the West Pavilion. The course uses a new trail that goes to the Victoria Woods covered bridge and returns. The scheduled race date is December 31, 2026; a make-up date is January 3 at the same location.
Registration fees follow a tiered schedule: $30 until September 30, $35 until December 15, and $40 until race day. A medal-only option reduces the fee by $5. All sales are final and entries are non-refundable except as specified by the event cancellation policy. The race will proceed rain or shine; in the event of ice or snow it will be postponed to January 3. If the event is postponed and a registrant cannot attend the alternate date, the bib may be transferred to another person. If the event is canceled on both dates, entries are non-refundable.
There will be no early packet pick-up. Check-in and late registration take place at Friedman Park from 12:00 to 12:45 pm on race day. Shirts are Tultex soft cotton in unisex sizes and are guaranteed for registrations completed by December 13; limited extras may be ordered afterward. Finisher medals are PVC key chain medals provided to all who finish. The event will be timed by To the Finish Timing. Awards include top three overall male and female and top three male and female in age groups: 13 & Under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+. A group discount is available for four or more participants; registrants should contact the organizer for the discount code. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
