New Year's Eve 5K - Newburgh
The event is an out and back 5K that starts and finishes at the West Pavilion in Friedman Park, 2700 Park Blvd., Newburgh, IN. The course uses a new trail that reaches the Victoria Woods covered bridge and returns to the pavilion. A PVC key chain finisher medal is provided to all finishers.
Registration fees vary by date: $30 until August 15, $35 until December 15, and $40 until race day. A medal only option reduces the fee by $5. All sales are final and entries are non-refundable except as specified in the event policies. A group discount is available for four or more participants; participants must contact the organizer for details. Shirts and medals are not guaranteed after the event unless prior arrangements are made.
There is no early packet pick up. Check in and late registration occur at Friedman Park from 12:00 to 12:45 pm on race day. Timing is provided by To the Finish Timing.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers. Age group awards go to the top three male and female in these divisions: 13 and under; 14 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 to 79; 80 and over.
The event proceeds rain or shine. If ice or snow prevents the event, it will be postponed to January 3 at the same location; transfers are allowed if a participant cannot attend the postponed date. If the event is cancelled on both dates, entries remain non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
