New Year's Eve 5K - Newburgh
The event is a 5K out and back road/trail race on December 31, 2026, held at Friedman Park, 2700 Park Blvd., Newburgh, IN. The course starts and finishes at the West Pavilion and follows a new trail that reaches the Victoria Woods covered bridge before returning to the park. A make-up date is scheduled for January 3 at the same location in the event of ice or snow.
The race is timed by To the Finish Timing. All finishers receive a PVC key chain finisher medal. Race shirts are Tultex soft cotton in unisex sizes and are guaranteed if ordered by December 13; a limited number of extras may be available afterward and sizes may show as sold out during registration.
Entry fees change by registration date: $30 until August 31; $35 until December 15; $40 through race day. There is a $5 reduction for a medal only option. All sales are final and entries are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled on both scheduled dates. If the event is postponed and a registrant cannot attend the make-up date, bib transfer to another person is allowed.
There is no early packet pick up. Check-in and late registration occur at Friedman Park on race day. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and over.
