Bridgton 4 on the Fourth
Bridgton’s 4 on the Fourth is a historic road race taking place in Maine’s lake region. The event celebrates its 50th consecutive year in 2026. The main course provides a route that starts in town and traverses a rolling landscape featuring hills, fields, and lake views. The final segment of the course is designed for a fast finish.
The event includes the following distances:
- 4 mile run or walk
- 1 mile kids fun run
- 1/2 mile kids fun run
- 1/4 mile kids fun run
The primary 4 mile run and walk is held on July 4th. The Kids Fun Run takes place on July 3rd at the Stevens Brook Elementary School fields and is open to children aged 3-10. Participants in the youth event can take part in warm-up exercises led by a local physical therapist before the start.
Amenities for participants include live results delivered via text or email and free finish line photographs. Runners who register at least three weeks before the event receive a personalized bib. The first 500 registered participants are provided with an official race shirt. Cash prizes are awarded to the top five male and female finishers, with additional awards for top local residents and age group winners.
