The TGA Consulting Bridges of the Tyne 5 Mile Road Race
The event takes place on 30 June 2026 on Newcastle Quayside and is organised by Tyne Bridge Harriers. The main race is a mainly flat, fast out and back road course along the quayside that passes seven of the river's bridges and both starts and finishes on the Quayside.
- 5 Miles: Out and back on Newcastle Quayside, mainly flat.
- 1 Mile: Junior out and back course along the quayside.
Race headquarters for the 5 mile event is at The Tyne Bar on Maling Street, approximately 800 metres from the start, with an area set aside for baggage. The junior 1 mile race has its race HQ at Malmo Quay at the start.
Entry fees listed are £24 plus an online booking fee for the 5 mile race and £12 plus an online booking fee for the 1 mile junior race; UKA members receive a £2 reduction. Minimum age for the 5 mile race is 15 on the day. Minimum age for the junior 1 mile is 10 and maximum age is 14 on the day. Prizes are awarded in the junior races to the first three male and female finishers, and all junior entrants receive a commemorative medal.
Clubs compete for the Kevin Cheetham Trophy, awarded to the club with the lowest combined finishing positions of the first senior female, first vet female (V40), first senior male and first vet male. Entrants must comply with the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
