The TGA Consulting Bridges of the Tyne 5 Mile Road Race
The event is a five mile road race on Newcastle Quayside. The course is mainly flat and follows an out and back route along the quayside, passing seven of the river's bridges. The race starts and finishes on Newcastle Quayside.
Race headquarters and registration are at The Tyne Bar on Maling Street, about 800 metres from the start. There is an area at the race HQ for runners to store baggage. Registration is available on the day and the entry period closes on 28 June 2026. A transfer period is available and transfers are possible until 1 July.
Entry is priced at £24 per runner plus the online booking fee, with a £2 reduction for UKA members. The minimum age for entry is 15 on the day of the race.
Clubs compete for a team trophy awarded to the club with the lowest combined finishing positions of their first senior female, first veteran female (V40), first senior male and first veteran male (V40). Veterans for this award are V40 and tie-breaks are decided by the club whose fourth scorer finishes first. The race is held by an established local club and follows UKA anti-doping rules.
