Event information

Brenig Way 50k Trail takes place on 18 October 2026 at Green Lane Car Park, Corwen, GB. Entry categories shown include a paid Standard Entry (£51.50) and a member entry priced at £0.00. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over on the race date. The race is electronically timed and each participant will be issued a GPS tracker.

Course, navigation and safety

The route covers 50 km with approximately 1450 m of ascent. The course follows the regional Brenig Way footpath through the Dee Valley, crosses to the A5 in Conwy county, climbs into Clocaenog Forest and reaches the shores of Llyn Brenig before finishing on the dam. Terrain includes country lanes, technical climbs and descents, grassy riverside paths and forest tracks. Participants must navigate using Brenig Way waymarkers, a provided GPX file and an event map.

There are three checkpoints with refreshments: Glan yr Afon at 11 km (cut-off 9.30am), Clocaenog Forest at 24 km (cut-off 12pm) and Cyfylliog Village at 37 km (cut-off 2.30pm). Mandatory kit required includes a waterproof jacket and trousers, a spare base layer top, hat and gloves, a whistle, the provided map, a fully charged mobile phone and at least 500 ml of water at the start.
