Breaking 3 at Rockland Lake State Park

Breaking 3 is a full marathon held at Rockland Lake State Park, NY on March 27, 2027. The event is a certified 26.2 miles course and is USATF sanctioned and World Athletics certified.

The course is a flat criterium-style circuit composed of multiple 3-mile loops with a marked tangent line to ensure accurate distance. The event uses a single start with a field cap of 300 to reduce congestion and lapping. The race has a 3:25:00 course cutoff; finishers inside the limit receive official results.

Organizers provide dedicated pacers and set pace groups that currently include 2:40, 2:50, 3:00, and 3:10 finishing targets; groups may be adjusted based on the field. Every athlete has access to personal fluids and nutrition on each loop, with bottle service at every aid station. Headphones and earbuds are not allowed in order to comply with event and governing body rules.
