Event overview
The Brasstown Bald Buster is a road event held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Brasstown Bald Visitor Center & Recreation Area in Hiawassee, GA (2941 Highway 180 Spur). The main race is a 5K road run of about 3.1 miles with approximately 1,700 feet of ascent. The event includes a ruck division that follows the same course.

Race details
Registration closes April 23. Everyone registered receives a T-shirt and a medal; registering by April 10, 2026 guarantees a shirt. There is no race day registration. Transfers, refunds, or deferments are not allowed. A mandatory pre-race briefing takes place at the bottom of the course. Participants park at the top and then walk down or use a shuttle to reach the start; parking is not allowed at the bottom or along roads.
Prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three women overall in both the 5K run and the ruck division. The event proceeds in any weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
