About the race
The Inaugural Manatee River Turkey Trot Bridge Run takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at the Palmetto Marriott Resort & Spa in Palmetto, Florida (600 US-41 HWY, 34221). Race management is provided by Fit2Run with professional timing by Fit2Time. The event includes on-site and virtual options and marks the first planned De Soto Bridge closure for a running event, allowing participants to run a 5K over the De Soto Bridge.
The event features these distances and formats:
- 5K
- Kids Dash (12 & Under)
- Virtual 5K
The on-site 5K is a chip timed run/walk. The Kids Dash is organized by age groups 3y-4y, 5y-6y, 7y-9y and 10y-12y. Participants receive a race bib, finisher's medal, commemorative shirt and a reusable tote bag; virtual participants receive the same items with shipping included. Packets will be mailed at least the week after the race for virtual entrants.
Registration windows and standard fees listed by the organizer apply per event. For the 5K, registrants must be 5 years or older; any child 4 or under who accompanies a parent or guardian during the 5K must remain in a stroller. Participants with dogs or strollers are asked to start at the back of the field. Shirt sizes are distributed on a first come first serve basis and no discount is given if a registrant opts out of receiving a shirt.
