Bowdoin Bushwhack
The Bowdoin Bushwhack is a trail running event held on a weekday evening in Wappingers Falls, New York. The race takes place within the grounds of Bowdoin Park, utilizing the various terrains found throughout the area. The event is hosted at Pavilion 1, which serves as the central race hub for participants.
The course covers a distance of approximately 5 miles. Runners navigate a variety of surfaces and natural obstacles during the tour of Bowdoin Park. The terrain features include:
- Grassy fields and dirt paths
- Sections with rocks and roots
- Several uphill and downhill segments
The race begins and ends on the soccer field located at the bottom of the park. Participation is limited to a field of 150 runners. While pre-registration is available, limited registration may be offered on the day of the event.
The organizers present awards to the top three overall female and male finishers. Additionally, the event serves as a collection point for charitable contributions. Participants and attendees can bring non-perishable food items and dry goods to the collection box at the Pavilion 1 hub. These donations are provided to the local food pantry at the Church of St. Mary in Wappingers Falls. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
