Borders 8-hour Challenge (NU Limits Running)
The Borders 8 hour Challenge on 05 Sep 2026 is a timed loop event organised by NU Limits Running Ltd. Participants complete as many 4.366 mile loops as possible within an 8 hour time limit on trail paths around Borders Forest Park. Each lap includes approximately 480 ft of ascent and detailed route information is available in the event GPX file.
Runners wear an electronic wristband (HuTag on a velcro strap) that records the start and finish of each lap and provides an official lap count. Basecamp offers two 6 x 3 metre gazebos, an indoor hall for kit storage, and onsite catering providing hot food, snacks and drinks. Spectators are welcome at Basecamp. Parking is marshalled on arrival and is charged at £5 per day or £15 per night for overnight campervan parking; overnight parking includes access to water and toilet facilities.
Mandatory kit requirements state a minimum of 1500 ml fluid to start and 60–90 g of carbohydrates per hour while running, appropriate clothing for prevailing weather, dry clothes for after the event, a mobile phone and a headtorch.
Refunds are available up to two months before the event. Event transfers are permitted up to one month before; participant transfers are permitted up to one week before. Total places are capped at 200. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
