Bonneville Backyard Ultra
The Bonneville Backyard Ultra is a last person standing running event in Provo, UT, held along Deer Creek Reservoir. The course is an out-and-back with about 2.08 miles each way, making each loop 4.167 miles. The terrain is mostly smooth and runnable.
Runners must complete one loop every hour. Early loop finishes are allowed, but participants must be inside the corral before the hourly bell to start the next loop. Failure to start a loop on time results in elimination. Pacers and late starts are not permitted. The event uses a corral to track who continues each hour and a series of signals to warn runners: three whistles for three minutes to go, two whistles for two minutes, one whistle for one minute, and the bell to start the hour exactly on the hour.
The format emphasizes repeated hourly restarts and continuous hourly running rather than a fixed distance or time limit. Organizers note that a small number of waitlisted runners may be privately invited as standby participants on race day; such invitations are not guaranteed entries.
