Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island
The Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island is a multi-distance event organized in cooperation with the Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club, the Charleston Animal Society, and the Charleston Running Club. Located at Seabrook Island, South Carolina, the event offers both in-person and virtual participation options on a course centered around Village Green Lane.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- 5K Walk (3.1 miles)
- Virtual Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The event proceeds are distributed among the three organizing community groups. The competition takes place regardless of weather conditions, and an after-party with refreshments is held on the village green at Freshfields Village. Participants can collect their packets on Thursday at Fleet Feet Mt Pleasant or at the race site on the morning of the event.
Awards are presented following the races for multiple categories. Top finishers are recognized for overall male and female performance, as well as in specific age brackets starting from 14 and under up to 90 and over. Separate awards are also designated for Master, Grandmaster, and Great Grandmaster divisions. Overall ranks are determined by gun time, while age group awards utilize chip timing data. In the instance of an event cancellation, participants are provided with options to defer their registration to the following year or a rescheduled date.
