Hallucination
Hallucination is a multi-day trail running event at Johns Island County Park in Johns Island, South Carolina. The event offers timed running options on a 2.6 mile cross-country style loop that is shaded and relatively smooth, with roots in places. The loop passes the start/finish area, a tent city, and the bathhouse after each circuit.
Distances include:
- 34 hour
- 24 hour
- 12 hour
- 6 hour
Registration includes race entry, swag, food, drinks, snacks, and primitive camping with bathhouse access. RV sites with electricity and water are available for an additional charge and are limited in number. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own cup, bottle, or hydration bladder. One aid station at the start/finish will be stocked with snacks, hydration mixes, coffee, and typical race provisions.
Night running rules require a headlamp or waist light for the 12, 24, and 34 hour fields; spare lights and batteries are recommended. Dogs are not allowed on the course during the race.
Finisher recognition is awarded to anyone who completes at least one lap, and finishers receive a wooden medal. Top three male and female finishers are recognized in each time category. Runners who reach 100 miles receive a commemorative buckle. There is no refund policy, but bib transfers are allowed and event insurance can be purchased through registration. Volunteer hours can be exchanged for race entry discounts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
