Heatwave Half Marathon - Springfield
The Heatwave Half Marathon - Springfield offers a variety of distances held on the Frisco Highline Trail, starting at Willard High School in Willard, Missouri. This summer event includes multiple race options to accommodate different fitness levels and ages.
The event features several organized distances:
- Half-Marathon
- Half-Marathon Relay (Double out-and-back course)
- 10 K
- 5 K
- 1 Mile (Untimed)
- Kids Dash (Untimed for ages 10 and under)
- Virtual Race (Participants run at their own location)
Registrants for the 5 K, 10 K, and Half-Marathon events receive a designer shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a custom bib. These distances are chip-timed, with live results and age group awards available immediately following the finish. Age group categories range from 10 and under up to 80 plus. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash participants also receive a shirt and medal, though these events are not timed.
The finish line includes refreshments such as free ice cream or Kona Ice. Digital photos are provided to participants at no additional cost. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the race at the starting location starting 90 minutes before the first event. Youth-based pricing is implemented for participants aged 12 and under.
The races are held on the Frisco Highline Trail, with specific course maps provided for each distance. The event proceeds under various weather conditions, and a virtual option is available for those unable to attend the physical location.
