The Spooky Sprint - Des Moines takes place on October 10, 2026 at Big Creek State Park, 8550 NW 142nd Ave, Polk City, IA. The event offers multiple race options, including:

Entry fees range from $17 to $50. Youth pricing for the 5k and 10k is $17 for ages 12 and under. Chip timing and live results are provided for the timed races.
Registration, race day and policies
Packet pickup is available on race day beginning 1.5 hours before the race. Registration includes race shirts and custom medals for most distances; organizers recommend registering by the stated shirt guarantee deadline to secure sizes. Virtual participants receive a digital bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and packet shipping; virtual packets are mailed and ship the Wednesday after the race.
Bodies Race Company operates a no-refund policy. Events proceed in most weather conditions; cancellation will occur only if the venue requires it or if there are ice hazards. If cancellation is necessary, participants will be transferred to the virtual event.
Awards and timing
The 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon have age-group awards: male and female overall, masters (40+), and top three in standard age brackets from 10 & under through 80+. The 1 Mile, Kids Dash, and Virtual events are untimed and do not qualify for age-group awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
