Lions on the Run 5K
The Lions on the Run 5K is a community race hosted on the Des Moines Christian campus in Urbandale, Iowa. The event features a 5K run and walk and serves as the season finale for the Lions on the Run camp.
The camp involved students in 3rd to 5th grade who trained together in faith, fitness, and fun. The 5K provides an opportunity for these students to cross the finish line alongside family, friends, and other community members.
The event is open to all ages and athletic abilities. Younger siblings and family members may take part in a free one lap track race held after the 5K.
Registration opens July 26, 2026 and closes October 15, 2026. The registration fee is $35.00. Campers will receive their race packets the morning of the 5K. Additional packet pick up dates and locations are listed as October 30 at Fitness Sports Clive (Swanson Depot, 8810 Swanson Blvd, Clive, IA 50325) and October 31 at Door 1 of DMC for late pick up.
All registrants will receive a finisher's medal and a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
