Heatwave Half Marathon - Omaha
The Heatwave Half Marathon in Omaha is an annual summer running event featuring multiple distances to accommodate a variety of participants. The race takes place in July and offers several course options for runners of different interests.
Available distances include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Half Marathon Relay
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kids Dash (50m for ages 10 and under)
The Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K events are chip-timed and include live results and awards. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed events. For the Half Marathon Relay, participants register individually and then form teams of any size. A Volunteer Then Run option is also available, where participants assist with event setup before running their preferred distance.
Participants receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To guarantee an event shirt, registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday ten days before the race. Free photos are provided for all participants, and ice cream is served at the finish line. Children aged 12 and under are eligible for reduced youth pricing for the 5K and 10K distances. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option allows participants to complete their run at a chosen location and receive event materials by mail.
